Today's evil review: Sherlock Holmes

This is a very non cinema movie. I must admit I watched it because it was New Year's holiday (I had nothing else to do and there was no other movie to see). There is nothing special about seeing it on the big screen. Your tv will do.
Sherlock Holmes is a drunk, dirty, almost tramp, detective who seems to live at Dr. Watson's expense. Talking about Watson, I am hoping for some director to give Jude Law a gay role in some movie, 'cause while it doesn't happen he will continue to turn every character he plays into a feminine one. Just look at him in the movie poster...what kind of expression is that!?
Continuing on Holmes persona, not only he is a bohemian but also a fighter and sometimes even a bit dumb, relying on Watson's guidance to get rid of some of his problems.
The plot is silly in the beginning but at least it gets better by the end. Other than that and apart from some unnecessary hollywood jokes (like when two characters are fighting the bad guys but they stop to comment on eachothers outfits, for example) the movie is ok...
I still have to say though, if you're looking for the old glamour from the old detective books, stay home.
